He rebelled against Mughal Samrat Jahangir and to control this, Mughal Samrat Jahangir had sent Kutubuddin. Both died in the war in 1610 AD and were buried at the graveyard of Pir Baharam.

  2. Golap Bag of Bardhaman is a most loved tourist place. It is the herbal and zoological garden set up by the King Bijoy Chand Mahatab in the year 1884. Well, known botanist, Dalton Hooker came here and recorded 128 kinds of trees. At present, there are various mango, eucalyptus, and different trees in the garden.

  3. Ramana Bagan is the woodland office of Bardhaman sub-division. It is at the east side of Golapbag. These backwoods is also referred to as deer park. Deer’s, Tigers, and various types of birds make this place excellent.

  4. The University of Burdwan was formally introduced in 1960. It was after the nullification of the Zamindari framework in the fifties that Uday Chand Mahtab, the last delegate of the Burdwan Raj, left nearly his whole property in Burdwan to the state government.

  5. The Curzon Gate was made in 1903, by the ruler Maharaja Bijoy Chand Mahatab to observe Lord Curzon’s visit, it is an entrance overshadowing the street. The Royal Palace is about at a distance of 1 kilometer from the door.
