Faizabad is a city located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The city is also the headquarters of Faizabad District. Faizabad was the main capital of the Nawabs of Awadh and has landmarks made by the Nawabs, similar to the Tomb of Bahu Begum. The earliest reference of the city is said to be in the Ramayana, in which the city is alluded to as Saket.
