Firozabad is a city located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, otherwise called the City of Glass Suhag Nagari. The old name of the city was Chandwar Nagar. It is said that amid the rule of Akbar, income was brought through the city, which was plundered by the Rajpoot who lived there. Akbar sent his armed force driven by a man named “Firoz” to make the city a cantonment to remove thieves who lived here.

FACTS ABOUT FIROZABAD:
The name of the city was given in the administration of Akbar by Faraz Shah Mansab Dar in 1566. It is said that Todarmal was going through this town, on a journey to Gaya. He was ransacked by criminals. By his demand, Emperor Akbar sent his Mansab Dar Faraz Shah here.
Mr. Peter, a businessperson working for the Dutch East India Company visited the city of Firozabad in 1632 and found the town in great condition. It is composed in the gazetteer of Agra and Mathura that in 1596 Faraz was moved up to a pargana.
In 1857, the zamindar of the city of Firozabad with locals took dynamic parts in freedom battle. Popular Urdu writer Munir Shikohabadi too was condemned to Kala Pani by the British East India Company.
