Navsari is a city in the state of Gujarat. Navsari is likewise the Twin City of Surat and just about 30 km from Surat. It is one of the oldest cities in the state of Gujarat and has a history of more than 2000 years. FACTS ABOUT NAVSARI:
Shayashray Shiladitya was in charge of the city of Navsari in the seventh century. He named the city as Nag Vardhaha to pay tribute to Guru Nag Vardhana as he was his idol. Amid a similar period, the name changed to Nav Sarika as is confirmed by a recuperated copper plate dated 669 A.D.
The Meherjirana library is one of the oldest libraries in South Gujarat. It was set up by the primary Dastu Meherjirana, who was likewise born in Navsari. He was welcomed by Akbar in a religious program composed by the Great Akbar. Pioneers of every single religious gathering took part in it. As per the Parsi custom, in 1142 A.D., when they initially came to Navsari, the city was named as Nag Mandal.
